Hanlan explained that when he found out about the possibility of joining the Spanish powerhouse, he was very happy to come and be a part of such a great club.

"I had a chance to watch a couple of games and I've always seen Valencia doing terrific this year. When I got the call I was excited and I was ready to come over," the Canadian athlete said to the Spanish reporters.

"I had a pretty solid beginning of my season in Greece and I just want to translate that into the role I have here. I want to give as much as possible on both ends of the floor, helping the team keep winning games. I think I am way more advanced now."

Hanlan has already met his coaches and teammates and is happy with the atmosphere he felt on the team.

"The guys had a day off today and everybody showed up in the gym. It shows that a team has very good chemistry, they work well and it's not a mistake that they get all those wins. Seems like they have a really great group of guys," the 29-year-old spoke.

Hanlan shone brightly, while playing for Aris Thessaloniki this season. He averaged 20.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 16.0 PIR in the Greek Basketball League.
