Asked about the race for the scoring title, the Greek Freak downplayed the importance of the trophy and encouraged people to focus on other things in basketball and in life.

"It holds you back. I really believe in this. You don't get to your full potential when you worry about the wrong things," Giannis told the media when asked if he follows the numbers. "I'm obsessed with basketball. I really want to be the best that I can be. I've shown it time and time again that I'm about that."

"I'm not about the scoring championship. I couldn't care less," the Milwaukee Bucks superstar continued. "I'm not about the MVP. I can care less. I just want to be the best player I can be wherever it takes me. I'm ok with that."

"If I keep worrying about if I can win the scoring championship or what I've done in the past, it takes me away from the goals I really want to achieve," Giannis explained. "I know a lot of people follow it. I know probably my teammates follow it, my brothers follow it."

Giannis then went on to explain his philosophy and what drives him to achieve greater things every day.

"I try to close my social media, throw all those distractions away and just focus on how I can get better, how I can make free throws, how I can improve my jump shot, how I can be a better teammate, how I can be stronger, more explosive, how I can make good decisions, how I can enjoy the game, how I can focus on myself without being selfish, just focusing on myself by making good decisions for myself and my teammates, how I can be in the moment and not worry about the future."

"Those are the things that allow me to reach my full potential. Those are the things that I worry about every single day, not scoring championships, MVPs," the Bucks superstar finished his statement.
