Mega prospects trio of Jovic, Cazalon and Matkovic declare for 2022 NBA draft / News - Basketnews.com
Serbian forward Nikola Jovic, French shooting guard Malcolm Cazalon and Croatian/Bosnian big man Karlo Matkovic have submitted paperwork to the NBA office to make themselves eligible for the 2022 draft, according to the agent Misko Raznatovic.
All three players are competing for KK Mega Basket.
Jovic,the No. 23 prospect in the ESPN Top 100, is having a productive season in the Adriatic League, averaging 11.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists (24 duels).
The 18-year-old landed in Mega in 2018. He made his senior debut in 2021.
Jovic also made his debut for the Serbian senior national team, posting 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in a FIBA World Cup qualifying game against Slovakia in February.
In the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup last summer, he was named to the All-Tournament Team alongside such prospects as Chet Holmgren and Victor Wembanyama.Over seven tournament games, he averaged 18.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per match.
The 20-year-old Malcolm Cazalon started his professional path with JL Bourg in 2018. He joined Mega in 2020.
Cazalon's averages are marking 9.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steal over 12 ABA League games this season.
The 21-year-old Karlo Matkovic's first professional club wasCedevita Olimpija. He shifted to Mega in 2020.
In this campaign, Matkovic is registering 11.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assist over 24 ABA contests.
Matkovic made his debut for Croatian NT in February 2022, playing in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers match against Sweden.
