The Los Angeles Lakers finished the NBA season with a record of 33 wins and 49 losses, meaning the end of the team's season and any title hopes. Following a disappointing season, the club's head coach Frank Vogel was officially relieved of his duties yesterday.

"I've never had issues with any coaches," Westbrook said talking about his lack of playing time during some moments recently. The guard afterward shared a story of how he sent coach Vogel and his wife a bottle of champagne for their anniversary. "I'm not sure what his issue was with me. That's something that he has to answer."
"When I first got here I felt like I was never given a fair chance," Westbrook says. The player noted that he thinks it's unfair that people expect him to prove himself year after year.
"I just felt like I never had a fair chance on the basketball front or any front," Westbrook continued."There's just so many made-up stories that are not true... That's part of not getting a fair chance. Like 'OK, now I have to fight against this made-up story.'"
Westbrook averaged 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists for the Lakers this year. The player has a $47 million player option in his contract for the next season. Will he accept it with a new coach coming to the team? "I haven't thought that far into anything," Westbrook concluded.
