Spanoulis sat down beside Doncic's mom, Mirjam Poterbin, and Tony Parker to talk about the biggest young European prospects in the EuroLeague's Table Talk episode "Table Talk: Life of a Prospect".
"The biggest smile on my face and the biggest thing I've achieved in my career is when they tell me and I listen from many players that I inspired them," Spanoulis told while talking about Doncic.
"I inspired such a talented guy like Luka. You know, you inspire a person with your character, not only with your game."
Luka Doncic left his hometown in Slovenia when he was 13 to play for Real Madrid. His mom remembered the difficult time of allowing his son to leave and follow his dream.
"I was talking more about the mental things," Poterbin remembered. "If you make a bad decision when you're 13, it can affect him for a lifetime."
All three members of the table emphasized giving love and support to young aspiring individuals wanting to play basketball. "If the kid is going to play, he's going to play for sure. Let the coach be the coach," Spanoulis concluded.
