After huge recent changes in Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, the greens are looking for a new head coach. According to various reports from Gazzetta, Sport24, and SDNA, Giorgos Vovorasis mentioned as the top candidate to replace Dimitris Priftis.

After the massive departures (Dimitris Diamantidis, Dimitris Priftis, Nikos Pappas, Panagiotis Triantopoulos), the new technical director of Panathinaikos Argyris Pedoulakis will select the new head coach for the greens.

Vovoras was at the helm of Panathinaikos last year. After poor results, he left the club in the middle of the 2020-21 season.

Vovoras was a long-time assistant coach of Panathinaikos, serving under such coaches as Xavi Pascual or Rick Pitino. He also worked on Pedoulakis coaching staff previously.

He worked in Debrecen, Hungary, from November to February this year.
