The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 109-104 during Thursday night’s play-in game at Target Center in Minneapolis and Patrick Beverley was ecstatic.

The No. 7 seed Timberwolves have now secured a spot in the playoffs and are set to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, April 16. It’s only the second time since 2004 that the Timberwolves have made it to the postseason. Beverley finished the game with 7 points, 3 assists, and 11 rebounds.

Several late defensive stops and an offensive rebound from the seasoned veteran on the game's final free throw helped seal the deal for a Timberwolves squad without much postseason experience.

Beverley celebrated in emphatic fashion after the game against his former team, jumping onto the scorer’s table and heaving his jersey into the crowd before running around the court and embracing his teammates.

The 10-year pro was overcome with emotion after the victory while sitting on the sidelines, clearly letting out some sobs after playing a key role in the Wolves' win.

But Beverley didn't stay quiet after the win either. In an Instagram live while in his team's locker room, he used some trash talk against the Clippers while calling out his haters.

"What did I say at the beginning of the year? We’re in the motherf–ing playoffs. They don’t believe in us. I told you we were going to the playoffs. Cause nobody believes in me. Weak a- Clippers," the Timberwolves guard said, adding more cuss to his speech.

In the press conference, Beverley explained what he told his ex-Clippers teammates after the win. "Take they a– home," said the Timberwolves guard. "Long flight to LA. Take y’all a– home."

Beverely's and the Wolves' celebrations became the epicenter for much comment across the league. NBA stars didn’t shy away from chiming in as well, with Kyle Kuzma pointing out that Minnesota reacted as if they had won the NBA title and LeBron James, Ja Morant reacting with a laughing face.
