Andreas Pistiolis became the head coach of Galatasaray less than a month ago but he has quickly adapted to this new experience, after spending several years as the main assistant coach for Dimitris Itoudis.

"I have been working as an assistant coach for 15 years", Pistiolis said. "In the last few years, I have been feeling ready for a head coaching job. When I received the offer from Galatasaray, I was really happy. I accepted the offer without any hesitation".
"Turkey is a country that I love really much", Pistiolis added. "I love living here, I love Turkish people. Galatasaray is a really big club and a great community. There are millions of fans of this club. Once again, I'm very happy and proud to have received an offer from Galatasaray".
Pistiolis recently led Galatasaray to the win in the derby against Fenerbahce, a really important victory for the team.
"The competition between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce is one of the most important in Europe for me. It's no different from El Clasico, or the Panathinaikos-Olympiacos rivalry in my country", Pistiolis explained. "Mentally, we wanted to send the message 'we're going to war, we want to win, we have no other choice'.
