A week ago, NBA commissioner Adam Silver held a press conference and commented about the tendency of NBA stars to miss more and more games in a season.

"The bigger concern is a trend of star players not participating in a full complement of games," Silver noted.

"I'm not standing here saying I have a great solution," he continued. "Part of the issue is injuries. One of the things we have focused on at the league office and we're spending - are there things we can do in terms of sharing information, resources around the league to improve best practices, rehabilitation?"

Silver also added that another solution could be additional incentives.

"The play-in tournament, I thought, was a beginning of creating renewed incentives for teams to remain competitive and be fighting for playoff position. It might be through in-season tournaments and changes in a format where we can get at it."

This season only five players: Mikal Bridges, Kevon Looney, Deni Avdija, Saddiq Bey, and Dwight Powell participated in all 82 matches of the NBA regular season, via USA Today.

Injuries, suspensions, COVID-19, disagreements between player and franchise, and other aspects prevented more athletes from playing all duels.

The cases of stars Kyrie Irving, Ben Simmons, and Zion Williamson have been the most discussed during the 2021-22 campaign.

Irving refused to be vaccinated, Simmons disagreed with the Sixers and issued mental problems, while Williamson suffered from a foot setback.

Top players missing a ton of games this season:

Zion Williamson (Pelicans): 0 games out of 82 possible Ben Simmons (Sixers/Nets): 0 games Kawhi Leonard (Clippers): 0 games Kyrie Irving (Nets): 29 games Paul George (Clippers): 31 games Anthony Davis (Lakers): 40 games Kevin Durant (Nets): 55 games LeBron James (Lakers): 56 games

Nikola Jokic was the most reliable superstar in terms of matches count. The reigning MVP played 74 contests and averaged 27.1 points, 13.7 rebounds, 7.9 assists, and 1.5 steals.

He is the MVP race frontrunner this season as well, alongside Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In terms of clubs, Orlando Magic and Indiana Pacers have been the most injured teams in the NBA, perMan-Games Lost. For Magic, 443 duels were missed by injured players, while Pacers numbers marked 386 matches.
