His assistants will be Christos Serelis, Thanasis Giaples, and Isidoros Koutsos.
Meanwhile, Priftis' assistants Vassilis Simtsak and Kostas Charalampidis are out."We all know very well where we are and the responsibility we have in serving Panathinaikos. We have a difficult situation ahead of us but also a great challenge and we want to be ready mentally and sports-wise to respond as the club deserves.
We do not need to say more, we just have to bow our heads and work together as a team," Georgios Vovoras told the club's website.
The 45-year-old Vovoras was at the helm of Panathinaikos last year. After poor results, he left the club in the middle of the 2020-21 campaign.
Vovoras was a long-time assistant coach of PAO, serving under such coaches as Xavi Pascual or Rick Pitino. He also worked on Pedoulakis coaching staff previously.
He worked in Debrecen, Hungary, from November to February this year.
