The damages are separated into several parts, each of them for different alleged misconduct.
481 thousand euros are claimed as compensation for dismissal without real and serious cause. Taking into account the salary increase planned for the 2020-2021 season, the amount corresponds to wages due from the last day the coach was paid -May 3, 2020 - to the end date of the contract - June 30, 2021.
178 thousand euros are a lump sum compensation of six months' salary due for concealed work during the month of April 2020.
The last part - more than 507 thousand euros - is broken down into two parts. 297 thousand euros, which correspond to 10 months of salary, are requested for the damage to Mitrovic's image and other non-material damage.
The second part - 210 thousand euros - is regarded as compensation for not being able to coach the Montenegrin national team in order to remain the coach of ASVEL. It is stated that if the coach had known about the contract situation with the team, he wouldn't have declined to coach the national team.
Mitrovic was the head coach of ASVEL from 2018 until May of 2020. He was appointed as the head coach of AS Monaco later that summer and won the EuroCup during the 2020-2021 season and clinched the spot in the EuroLeague.
Mitrovic was dismissed this past December after only 5 wins in 14 rounds in the EuroLeague.
