Panathinaikos OPAP Athens are interested in Derrick Walton Jr., according to George Zakkas of SDNA.gr.

This season Walton split his time between the Detroit Pistons and their G League affiliate Motor City Cruise.

The 27-year-old averaged 6.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists over three NBA games, while posting the averages of 16.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 9.4 assists in 25 G League duels this campaign.

Prior to the Pistons, Walton was a member of the Miami Heat (2017-18) and Los Angeles Clippers (2019-20) in the strongest basketball league.

He holds NBA career numbers of 2.2 points and 1.4 assists over 45 contests.

The American guard had his first European basketball experience in the 2018-19 season with Zalgiris Kaunas. ALBA Berlin (2019) and ASVEL Villeurbanne (2020-21) were the other two powerhouses, which Walton represented during his time in Old Continent.

Panathinaikos finished 13th in the EuroLeague standings. Meanwhile, the Greens sit second in the local competition.
