Australian is getting closer to wearing the Nets jersey on the floor for the first time and playing alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. His progress in training is daily and his pace is increasing more and more.

The forward aims to return to action in Game 4 or 5 of the series against Boston Celtics, which leads 2-0 in this matchup. The addition of Simmons could be essential for the Nets trying to avoid elimination in Round 1 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

Speaking about the possibility of stepping on the floor in Game 4 in Brooklyn, he seemed optimistic that he can give a lot to his team. He commented that he has realized the way his new team is playing and is looking forward to becoming part of the effort.

"It is a good challenge. But now I'm looking forward to it. Especially playing with these guys. My IQ is high enough to play with Irving, Seth Curry and Durant. I was just watching them. I know how they play. I know how they want to play", Simmons commented.

"I think we will be fine. There are some things in defense where I need to focus, and I think I can have a lot of influence on the floor and helping my teammates as a leader on this side of the pitch", the forward concluded.

Game 3 in the Nets-Celtics series is scheduled for the upcoming night in NYC.

Simmons, 25, is a three-time All-Star over his four NBA seasons, scoring 15.9 points with 8.1 rebounds and 7.7 assists in 275 career games, all starts with the 76ers. He was the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Sixers out of LSU in 2016.
