Sloukas missed a three-pointer at the buzzer and Monaco survived a 78-77 (19-19, 19-23, 27-19, 13-16) thriller which was witnessed by Kevin Durant.

Monaco tied the best-of-five series at 2-2. Game 5 is in Piraeus on Wednesday.

"It’s only right that this series goes to game 5. Two good teams fighting it out," Mike James tweeted after the game.

The hosts went up by 9 in the fourth, 70-61, but a 10-0 run by Olympiacos saw visitors go up by one.

With less than two minutes to play, Sloukas hit his third three-pointer to put Olympiacos in front, 77-76, but Dwayne Bacon answered with a two-pointer a minute later. It turned out to be the last points of the game.

Sloukas then turned the ball over, but Bacon forced and missed shot after a timeout.

With the game and series in his hands, Sloukas had a chance to win it, but after hitting the previous 3 three-pointers, he missed at the buzzer.

The game in Monaco was watched by Durant, a former James' teammate at Brooklyn Nets.

Durant was actively cheering the hosts and James in particular and embraced several AS Monaco players after the final buzzer.

James missed 9 of 10 three-pointers and shot 5-18 from the field but had 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Donta Hall added a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

AS Monaco was only 5 for 23 from downtown.

Monaco: Dwayne Bacon 21 (4 AST), Mike James 18 (6 REB, 4 AST), Will Thomas 16 (4 REB), Donta Hall 14 (10 rebounds). Olympiacos: Kostas Sloukas 19, Aleksandr Vezenkov 17 (8 REB, 5 AST), Kostas Papanikolaou 13 (4 AST), Moustapha Fall 11 (8 REB), Tyler Dorsey 7.
