Adrian Wojnarowski, on the other end, also reports that current Warriors assistant Mike Brown and former Orlando Magic head coach Steve Clifford have been named as finalists as well.
It was previously reported that Sacramento were also interviewing Mike D'Antoni. Now, the three finalists are known and the General Manager of the club Monte McNair will have to make a choice between them.
Mark Jackson has been an ESPN broadcaster since 2014 after his first and only previous coaching stint with the Warriors from 2011 until May 2014 where he led the team to two playoff appearances in a row, a first for the franchise since the early 1990s.
Jackson also oversaw the drafting and early development of current league superstars Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, who were drafted in 2009, 2011, and 2012 respectively.
Mike Brown is the current head coach of the Nigeria basketball national team as well as an associate head coach for the Warriors, a position he's held since 2016. When the current head coach of the team Steve Kerr was out with chronic back pain during the 2016-2017 playoffs, Brown went undefeated with the team, amassing a 12-0 record.
He previously coached the Cleveland Cavaliers (2005-2010 and 2013-2014) and the Los Angeles Lakers (2011-2013).
Steve Clifford was an assistant coach for various teams until 2013 when he earned a head coaching job with the Charlotte Hornets. After 5 seasons with the team, the defense-oriented coach was hired by Orlando Magic where he stayed for 3 seasons until 2021.
The Kings fired their head coach Luke Walton back in November of last year. Interim head coach Alvin Gentry took over the job but didn't manage to take the club to the playoffs for the league-record 16th season in a row.
The franchise has had 12 coaches since their last playoff appearance in 2006 where they lost to the San Antonio Spurs.
