A strong showing from Alex Abrines and great team effort handed FC Barcelona (24-7) their 24th win in the Spanish ACB League over Hereda San Pablo Burgos (9-22) 84-69 (15-13, 14-17, 30-15, 25-24).

The leader of the Catalan team, Nikola Mirotic, was rested for the match. Although head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius hoped Cory Higgins could return to the court during this game, the 32-year-old guard was not registered for the duel.

Saras could field a new player on the court though as Pierre Oriola returned after a lengthy absence due to a back injury. Although the center returned to the team to play against Unicaja Malaga on April 14th, the first match since December 12th of 2021, Oriola had missed the following two games in the ACB as well as all EuroLeague matches since.

The two teams traded blows in the first half with neither of them managing to gain a more substantial lead. A low-scoring half ended with Burgos barely leading 30-29.

The second half was a different story. The EuroLeague team took the match into its hands. With the home team leading 43-40 with just over 4 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, Barca went on a 12-0 run to build a 15-point lead.

The Catalan powerhouse kept a similar distance between the teams in the 4th quarter and captured a solid win.

Barcelona were led by a duo that previously underperformed in the EuroLeague playoffs series against FC Bayern Munich. Alex Abrines was the leading scorer with 15 points, 12 of which came during the third quarter. He also added 4 rebounds for a total of 16 PIR in just under 15 minutes.

Rokas Jokubaitis played the most minutes on the team while also amassing the highest PIR of the team with 17. The Lithuanian guard scored 8 points, grabbed 2 rebounds, dished out 8 assists, and made 4 steals.

All registered players scored during the match for Barcelona. On the other end, Marc Garcia was the only double-digit scorer in San Pablo Burgos with 18 points and 21 PIR.
