While talking to the US media, the Spanish center Willy Hernangomez revealed that the Pelicans should have a training camp in Phoenix and that some of his teammates are planning to visit Europe, including Spain and possibly Lithuania.
"I told them actually (to come to Europe). Most of the guys want to go to train in Europe and see a different culture and environment," Hernangomez said. "I think Jaxson (Hayes) and Zion (Williamson) will be there for my camp. They want to be in Spain, so I am really excited to show my country, maybe Jonas' (Valanciunas) country.
I was talking to Brandon (Ingram). Last summer he did a summer training camp in Phoenix, where the guys went there. So, why wouldn't do one week or 10 days here and 10 days in Europe? That would be great for the chemistry. It would be super great to be back home with my team and I am rooting for that," the 27-year-old finished.
The Pelicans star Zion Williamson did not play a single game this season due to a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
The No. 1 pick of the 2019 NBA Draft has played just 85 games for New Orleans.
Williamson was an All-Star in 2020-21 when he averaged 27.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
For his career, he has averages of 25.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists over 31.7 minutes per match.
