According to the Spanish website Encestando, later confirmed by Marca, the Spanish powerhouse is showing serious interest in AX Armani Exchange Milan's point guard Sergio Rodriguez.

El Chaco has already played for the royal club, spending six seasons there from 2010 until 2016 and winning the EuroLeague in 2015. He then later played in the NBA for a year for the Philadelphia 76ers. After a brief stint there, he came back to Europe and played for CSKA Moscow, ultimately winning the most prestigious trophy in the continent again in 2019.

This year, Rodriguez averaged 8.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists for the Italian club in the EuroLeague.

According to Encestando, El Chacho has shown a strong interest to come back to Spain for the final years of his career. Real Madrid are expected to release Thomas Huertel and Nigel Williams-Goss, the report states, clearing the way for the guard's return.

According to the website, Real Madrid had a board meeting a week ago, confirming that the budget of the club will continue to top 40 million euros the next season.

It was recently reported that the Spanish powerhouse is also keen on signing one of the premier forwards in Europe, Mario Hezonja.
