"I don't know if that foul was intentional but it was dirty", coach Kerr said about Dillon Brooks' foul. "Playoffs basketball is supposed to be physical, everyone is gonna fight for every single play but there's a code in this league where you never put a guy's career or season in jeopardy".
"Taking someone mid-air and clubbing him across the head", coach Kerr continued. "And ultimately fracturing his elbow, you know Gary Payton is a guy who fought for a place in this league, finally found a home here, this should be the time of his life, it's the playoffs, and a guy comes in and hit him across the head...Dillon Brooks broke the code".
The Memphis Grizzlies guard was ejected from the game after the hard foul, but the NBA could take further actions against his play in the coming days.
