After the match, Morant tweeted "broke the code" with a video clip of his apparent knee injury, then rapidly deleted the tweet.
Morant referred to Steve Kerr's comments following Dillon Brooks' Flagrant Foul Penalty 2 on Gary Payton II in Game 2.
"I don't know if that foul was intentional but it was dirty. Playoffs basketball is supposed to be physical, everyone is gonna fight for every single play but there's a code in this league where you never put a guy's career or season in jeopardy. ... Dillon Brooks broke the code," then the head coach of GSW said post-game.
The 22-year-old Morant will undergo an evaluation to find out the extent of his setback.
Coming off a 47-point explosion in a Game 2, Ja Morant led all scorers again with 34 points.
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said Warriors guard Jordan Poole grabbed Ja Morant's knee and yanked it.
The American specialist also told he is "curious what happened" on this play. According to Jenkins, the Grizzlies will discuss it first when asked whether they will ask the league to look into it.
As stated by Jordan Poole himself, "it was a basketball play".
"I hit the ball (the first swipe). I was going for the ball. … I'm not even that type of player. I respect everybody," Poole commented regarding the play.
His co-partners in the backcourt line defended the rising star as well.
"It's not a joking matter that Ja is hurt. But the rest of the conversation is BS," Stephen Curry said.
Klay Thompson echoed: "We're not out here trying to hurt people or club people in the back of the head on a fast break. We play the game the right way."
