Justin Simon drops career-high 27 as Ludwigsburg earns 3rd place in BCL / News - Basketnews.com

In a third-place game of the Basketball Champions League, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg dominated over Hapoel U-Net Holon with great performance from Justin Simon. The final score was 88-68 (27-19, 15-10, 27-19, 19-20).

Ludwigsburg became the first team from Germany to win a BCL medal. It was their second third-place final in the BCL, after losing at that stage in 2018 to UCAM Murcia.

Ludwigsburg opened the game with a good offensive flow and build an early 8-points lead (27-19) after the first quarter. Justin Simon was impressive in that quarter, scoring 16 points and becoming Germans‘ main offensive threat.

Riesen didn‘t slow down in the second tally and after Jordan Hulls, Simon and Lukas Herzog‘s buckets inreased their lead to double-digits (42-29).

The German team started the second half off strong as well, with Jordan Hull‘s three-pointer finishing 10-2 run and earning the biggest lead of the game (52-31).

Simon finished the period with a monstrous dunk on the fast-break and kept Ludwigsburg at a safe distance (69-48) going into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter was just a formality, as MHP Riesen came away with a20-pointvictory.

Justin Simon was the top performer for the winners, accumulating 27 points (10/20 2PT, 2/4 3PT, 1/6 FT), 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 23 PIR.

On the opposing side, Tyrus McGee was the high-scorer for Hapoel, ending with 14 points (5/6 2PT, 1/3 3PT, 1/1 FT).
