The Ukrainian national team will play its remaining home matches for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification in Riga, Latvia, due to the outgoing war in the country, the Ukrainian Basketball Federation officially announced.
On July 1st, Ukraine will host Georgia, while on July 7th, Ainars Bagatskis' squad will welcome Spain in a re-scheduled game, which was originally scheduled for February 27.
Both matches will be played in the Arena Riga.
Between the latter duels, the Ukrainian NT will play an away match on July 4th against Northern Macedonia.
So far, Ukraine has played three contests out of six in Group G, winning a home game over Northern Macedonia and losing to Georgia and Spain. Ukraine ranks third in the table.
The top three group teams will advance to the next stage.
