Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz grabbed the second road win, and after eliminating Valencia Basket in the ACB quarterfinal, they will face Real Madrid in the semifinal.

Before the upcoming series against the EuroLeague runners-up, Baskonia coach Neven Spahija shared his thoughts with AS.com.

"We are a very good, strong team in every way. A team that is capable of winning 23-5 in the last quarter against a rival like Valencia is in a good moment," he assured.

Regarding the preparation of the series against Real Madrid, the Croatian had his own opinion.

"We are giving a lot of attention to recovery, shooting, and watching the videos. It is very important at this moment because it is clear that the first semifinal game is coming too soon," he said. "We would need at least one more day to prepare it. I have a lot of respect for the ACB, but it annoys me to play so soon. These are the conditions, and we are going ahead with this difficulty."

The truth is that Baskonia were returning yesterday morning on a regular flight from Valencia, and today they have embarked on a trip to Madrid.

Since Saturday afternoon, Los Blancos have been resting and thinking about the semifinals. It is what has to classify you as second or third place in the regular season, but that argument does not convince Spahija.

"Playing the series over three or five games doesn't change the preparation too much. Being among the best four teams in Spain is very important, for which we are very proud. Last year we couldn't win against the same rival, and this season, we beat them twice in their own court," he said.

Neven Spahija also had good words for Pablo Laso's team.

"We will play against the finalist of the EuroLeague, one of the best teams in Europe, together with Barcelona. For me, they could be the two best. They are very good, they have a lot of quality, and now they are in a great momentum. Nevertheless, we have been playing for a long time without losing away games, and that makes us ready and confident," he concluded.
