AS Monaco jumped to a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five quarterfinal series of the French LNB semifinals as they defeated Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez 79-72 (22-20, 24-15, 17-12, 16-25).

Dwayne Bacon was the top performer for the winners, accumulating 20 points (6/11 2PT, 1/4 3PT, 5/5 FT), 5 rebounds and 18 PIR.

After the close first quarter, Dwyane Bacon and Alpha Diallo‘s successful performance increased Monaco's lead to double-digits (46-35) going into a halftime.

Monaco continued his dominance in the third and after Yakuba Outtara‘s bucket they increased their lead to 18 points (61-43) before the decisive quarter.

When the game seemed almost over, the visitors initiated 12-2 run and trimmed the deficit to 6 (65-71) with 3:10 left.

Meanwhile, Dwayne Bacon came for the rescue, as he drained the 3-pointer (76-67) and the hosts could breathe more easily with 2:14 to go.

Pau-Lacq-Orthez managed to reduce the lead to 7 (72-79) but the time expired and Monaco sealed the second victory of the series.
