Bosnic announced this decision in a statement for Anadolu Agency.

"Dear friends, fans, and everyone who loves our national team. After long deliberation, I had no choice but to terminate my contract as the head coach of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the 46-year-old specialist said.

"Unfortunately, I had to make this decision because of differences in opinions with the leaders of the BiH Basketball Federation, as well as because of important contractual issues," he added.

Bosnic was the bench boss of BiH's team since 2018.

"I must admit that we are surprised by this move. It is true that there is a debt to the coach for the first quarter of 2022. All obligations from previous years have been properly paid to the coach, concluding on December 31, 2021, as well as the award for a spot in the EuroBasket 2022.

The public is aware that the federation is doing everything to ensure the best possible conditions for all squads, including the youngest ones. If we hadn't done that so far, we certainly wouldn't have had the results we've been achieving lately.

We are fighting in all ways and we have repaid a large number of debts, which was not easy. The head coach is aware of that, so I am personally shocked by his decision," commented Bosnia's basketball federation's General Secretary Amer Cholan.

The Bosnians are second in Group F of World Cup Qualifiers with 2 victories and 2 losses.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will participate in the upcoming EuroBasket 2022 (Group B). They will meet with Lithuania, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, and France.
