The 31-year-old former NBA player, previously represented by Octagon, is on an expiring (one-year deal) with the EuroLeague side and is now heading into free agency with a view to securing another contract.

Per BasketNews sources, Monaco is interested in keeping Motiejunas for another season.

The Lithuanian's current deal with Monaco included a China-out option, only applicable in the first two weeks since it was signed.

In the 2021-22 campaign, with Monaco reaching the EuroLeague playoffs and currently competing for the French LNB title, Motiejunas registered 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 10.8 in PIR.

Last summer, the experienced big man returned to the EuroLeague after almost ten years. In 2012, he was the second-best rebounder in the tournament, averaging 12.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game for Asseco Prokom Gdynia.

Later, Motiejunas spent six seasons in the NBA, representing the Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, and San Antonio Spurs. 2.13 m center had the most successful NBA campaign in 2014-15, averaging 12 points and 5,9 rebounds per game for the Rockets.

He spent four years (2017-21) in China, averaging 21.6 points and 13.7 rebounds per game for Xinjiang Flying Tigers in his last campaign.
