29-year-old Butkevicius is a well-known player for new Zalgiris head coach Kazys Maksvytis. They worked together in Sakalai Vilnius, Neptunas Klaipeda, and the Lithuanian national youth team.
Butkevicius played his first and so far the only season in the EuroLeague with Neptunas back in the 2014-15 season. The Lithuanian forward averaged 7.0 points and 7.8 PIR.
