Following an Israeli Winner League's investigation into the Hapoel Tel Aviv fans' behavior during the last derby against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, the league decided to fine the club.

"The management of Hapoel Tel Aviv will hold two open meetings with its fans in which the severity of the acts attributed to its fans, their violation of sports values, and their consequences on the team will be clarified," the league announced.

"In addition, it was decided to close the first eight rows of the western stand at the Shlomo Group Hall in the first six home games of the coming season and a fine of NIS 4,000," the league decided.

The fine amounts to around €1,100.

The match was stopped several times due to Hapoel fans throwing various objects at Maccabi players. According to Israel Hayom, the referees debated for a long time during the 4th quarter whether to resume the game after they had already threatened to stop the game if objects were thrown.

It was agreed to resume the match only after Hapoel Tel Aviv's chairman Rami Cohen took the microphone and asked the audience: "Gentlemen, please stop throwing objects on the floor. If objects are thrown one more time, the game will stop and the damage will be much heavier."

The superstar of Maccabi, Scottie Wilbekin lashed out at Hapoel fans following the match on May 22nd.

"I think Hapoel fans do not like Israel, if they did, they would not sing songs about the Holocaust," Wilbekin said during a Twitch stream the next day. "How can it be that I love their country more than they do?"

"I played in Greece, and it was not close to what happened yesterday. Objects were thrown there, and fans were immediately caught and thrown from the hall," he continued. "I just do not understand it, I would never call an Israeli a nazi. It must not be done. I understand the hatred between the clubs, but not all of these things."
