AX Armani Exchange Milan gave an official response to Virtus Segafredo Bologna and their owner Massimo Zanetti, who blasted the Game 5 referees and threw a shadow on the Olimpia Milano squad.

"We won the game despite the referees," Zanetti said to TRC. "It's time to stop with the psychological advantage to Milan and coach Ettore Messina, it's not acceptable."

Armani Exchange's response:

"AX Armani Exchange Milan declares itself astonished and indignant at the words, insinuations, and tone used by the owner of Virtus Bologna. Olimpia Milano and its ownership are known throughout Europe for fairness and style.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Massimo Zanetti has indulged in gratuitous and offensive remarks against our club and its members.

Besides being fanciful and unfounded, they [statements] also turn out to be as irresponsible as were those made by other members of the Bologna club on the eve of a series that was supposed to showcase only the good part of our movement. That movement about which the current Virtus ownership evidently cares very little.

Olimpia Milano, therefore, calls on the Federation to activate the federal prosecutor's office to see if there's an opportunity for sanctioning measures against Virtus and its ownership.

At the same time, the club recommends its public not to respond to provocations from the opposing side and show once again what Olimpia's style is."
