The most prominent club in the country, BC Prometey, has made its decision. The Latvian-Estonian League has announced that the Ukrainian champions are joining the tournament.
Although there were various candidates to host the club, the Ukrainian team is set to play its home matches in Riga, Latvia.
After beating Hapoel Jerusalem in the play-in matchup in the Basketball Champions League, Prometey got into the Top 16 round. The team managed to play three matches, one of them in a neutral arena in the Czech Republic, before dropping out of the tournament claiming that all the money and attention should go to the Ukrainian armed forces.
This season, Prometey will switch tournaments and are set to join the EuroCup.
