Thanasis Antetokounmpo to continue with Milwaukee Bucks / News - Basketnews.com

Thanasis Antetokounmpo has exercised his $1.88 million player option for the 2022-23 season and is set to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks for one more campaign, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The older brother of 2021 Finals and 2019, 2020 regular-season MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, the 29-year-old Thanasis averaged 3.6 points and 2.1 rebounds over 48 games (six starts) with the Bucks in 2021-22.

Originally a second-round pick by New York in 2014, Antetokounmpo has averaged 3.1 points and 2.0 boards in 127 matches (11 starts) with the Knicks (2016) and Bucks (2019-22).

In 2021, together with his superstar brother, Thanasis became an NBA champion, giving Milwaukee its first championship since 1971 when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson propelled the Bucks over the Baltimore Bullets.
