Kyrie Irving and the Nets are at an impasse in conversations about his future in Brooklyn, clearing the way for the seven-time All-Star to consider the open market, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Clippers are expected to be among the interested suitors if Irving heads elsewhere, via the report.

Irving has a June 29 deadline on his $36.9 million player option for the 2022-23 season.

The 30-year-old athlete was limited to road games for the majority of the last season because of his view on the COVID-19 vaccination and the City of New York policy that kept him off the court for games in Brooklyn.

He played only 29 regular-season games in the 2021-22 campaign.

A seven-time All-Star guard, Irving averaged 27.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.4 rebounds before a four-game sweep by the Boston Celtics in the opening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Since Cleveland drafted him No. 1 overall in 2011, Kyrie Irving has posted 23.1 points and 5.7 assists in 611 games (all starts) with the Cavaliers (2011-17), Boston Celtics (2017-19), and Nets. He is a career 39.3 percent shooter from the 3-point range.
