Tucker will opt out of his $7.4 million player option with the Heat for 2022-23 and become a free agent, The Athletic reported Monday.
The 76ers intend to offer him a three-year, $30 million contract.
Right now, the Sixers don't have the cap space available to sign him for $10 million per season. As a result, they would have to clear space in order to fit in his salary, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The Sixers have said they want to keep their core players -- Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris, and James Harden -- intact. However, the media outlet says the team is looking for suitors for Harris, who has two years and $76.9 million remaining on his deal.
Philadelphia is also shopping Shake Milton, Furkan Korkmaz, and Danny Green.
P.J. Tucker was a key cog in Milwaukee Bucks' title run in 2020-21. The 37-year-old averaged 7.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 71 games (70 starts) for the Heat last season.
Matise Thybulle registered 5.7 points and 2.3 rebounds over 66 matches, but he started a career-high 50 times -- mostly on the strength of his ball-hawking defense. The Australian forward was named to the NBA's All-Defensive second team in 2020-21.
