The 27-year-old Akpinar joined Fenerbahce last June, signing a 1+1 contract.

He averaged 4.5 points, 0.9 assists, and 2.6 PIR over 15 EuroLeague games this past season. Akpinar became the Turkish league champion under the guidance of Sasa Djordjevic.

The combo guard helped ALBA Berlin win a German Cup title in 2016, and has been a member of the German national team since 2017.

Ismet Akpinar appeared in five games during the 2014-15 EuroLeague season and registered 1.6 points per contest.

Fenerbahce are very active on the market in this off-season. The Turkish powerhouse has already announced the signings of Dimitris Itoudis, Johnathan Motley, Samet Geyik, and the extension of team captain Melih Mahmutoglu.

They are also finalizing the deal with Scottie Wilbekin. On the other side, Jan Vesely, Danilo Barthel, Jehyve Floyd, Markel Starks, and Ahmet Duverioglu left the club.
