Former NBA shooting guard Damyean Dotson lands in Turkey / News - Basketnews.com

Gaziantep Basketball, one of the Basketball Super League teams, (BSL) strengthened their roster with addition of 28-year old American shooting guard Damyean Dotson.

Dotson played last season at Austin Spurs in the NBA G League. In 36 games he recorded 14.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. He also played for the Knicks in NBA where in two games he averaged just 2.0 ppg and 1.0 rpg.

Dotson also spent pre-season at the Spurs in NBA. In 2017 he was drafted by New York Knicks (NBA) in second round (44th overall). He graduated from University of Houston and it is his sixth season in pro basketball.

Dotson has played previously professionally in NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers) and NBA G League (Westchester Knicks). He appeared in 213 games in his 5 seasons in the NBA and averaged 7.5 points and 1.5 assists.

He played for New York from 2017 through 2020, and then appeared in 46 games with the Cavs in the 2020-21 season, averaging 6.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists per contest.
