The 29-year-old guard had 1 year left on his contract with Maccabi but he didn't have a release clause, meaning that it had to be negotiated with Maccabi.
Wilbekin has represented the Israeli powerhouse since 2018. Throughout his stint in Tel Aviv, he became the three-time Israeli League champion (2019, 2020, 2021).
Scottie Wilbekin was hands down one of the main factors for the great final part of the last EuroLeague regular season for Maccabi.
The American-Turkish athlete averaged 15.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 15.1 PIR over 35 matches during the past EuroLeague campaign.
