"My priority 1, 2, and 3 is to continue in the NBA," Campazzo wrote on Twitter via his management team's account. "For now, I don't have a return to Europe in mind. It is obvious that at some point it will happen, but not now. I have it very clear: I want to try again, in whatever franchise it is, but to try again."
Campazzo had talked about coming back to Europe as one of the options during the interview and claimed not to have an obsession with the NBA.
"It wouldn't be painful in the least, I don't close any doors. Personally, it would be naive for me to be obsessed with staying in the NBA," the guard said about a possible return in the interview. "Maybe I don't even have offers. Real Madrid has always been a second home for me, but I have to wait. The truth is that I have no other choice."
Campazzo is now a restricted free agent. The Denver Nuggets can now execute a qualifying offer for 4 million dollars to keep Campazzo in Denver for another year. If they don’t, the guard will be free to join the team of his choice.
Campazzo is now preparing to play for the Argentinian national team this summer. Argentina will play against Venezuela and Panama in the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers window on June 30th and July 3rd. Two months later, the squad will travel to Brazil to participate in the AmeriCup 2022, the South American equivalent of EuroBasket.
