Draymond Green is not feared of a possible Kyrie Irving and LeBron James reunion in the Los Angeles Lakers.

He thinks they still couldn't beat the reigning NBA champs Golden State Warriors when Green appeared in a Bloomberg podcast hosted by Lucas Shaw.

"With LeBron James, if you give them someone like Kyrie… they'll have a chance because of the way Kyrie can score the basketball. LeBron will only put him in a position to do that. Kyrie has not proven to be a great leader. LeBron will put an umbrella over that. If you can do what you're good at, you have LeBron leading…"

Green also added a strong statement: "They could contend, but they won't beat us."

The LeBron-Kyrie connection helped the Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2016 NBA championship, defeating the same GSW in Game 7. Adding Irving to James and Anthony Davis could push the Lakers toward contender status after missing the playoffs in 2021.

The 30-year-old Irvinghad some recent contactwith the Lakers superstar LeBron James to presumably discuss a potential reunion in Hollywood.

Outside of the Purple & Gold, there are currently no known teams planning pursuit of sign-and-trades for the Brooklyn Nets star guard.
