Previously it was reported that Irving might re-join forces with LeBron James by joining the Los Angeles Lakers and that the Lakers were the only team interested in a potential sign-and-trade for the guard.
Irving has played the past 3 seasons on the Nets, however, he was not eligible to play home games this past season as he has decided to not get a vaccine against covid-19, which resulted in him ending up playing only in 29 games.
Irving in his career has also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he won an NBA title in 2016, and the Boston Celtics, since entering the NBA as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 draft.
The seven-time NBA All-Star this previous season has averaged 27.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game.
