Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard missed the past season as he was recovering from a torn right ACL. Leonard should be ready to help his team next season.

Clippers owner Steve Balmer was excited for next season knowing Leonard would be available to be back on the court.

"I think the sky is the limit for our team," Balmer said. "It'll be our effort, our energy. Of course, you got to have a little good luck to win the Larry O'Brien Trophy, which is what we really like."

Leonard, who turned 31 today, was not the only Clippers star that was injured last season. Paul George played only in 31 games last regular season because of an elbow injury and only returned to play in March.

When Balmer was asked about 5-time NBA All-Star Leonard's progress of returning, he was excited.

"[Leonard is] not only your best player but one of the preeminent handful of top players in the world. I am really excited about that," Ballmer said.

"Kawhi's in the gym. He's working, and we got our fingers crossed everything keeps going on schedule," Clippers owner added.

Clippers finished only in the 9th spot in the Western Conference and got eliminated in the play-in tournament this past season but Balmer was not shy to talk about next season's goals, however, he remained cautious about possible injuries.

"I think if we stay healthy next year," Ballmer said. "We are going to be having a chance to talk way late into the [postseason]. How's that?" Balmer concluded.

The Clippers recently agreed on a three-year, $33 million contract extension with starting center Ivica Zubac, so the core of the Clippers should remain about the same for the next season.

Two-time NBA champion Leonard in the 2020-2021 season has averaged 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game.
