However, the burning issue right now for the 26-year-old guard is his next contract. Olympiacos Piraeusare trying to re-sign him, with the two sides negotiating their common future over the last week.
Dorsey, who he started in all 75 Olympiacos games last season, spoke to Greek outlet BN Sports about his return to the Greek national team, but also about his future with the club he helped reach the EuroLeague Final Four and win both domestic titles in Greece.
"At the moment, nothing is clear," he said.
"The situation with Olympiacos is complicated. I need to talk to people close to me. Time will tell. It will certainly be a long summer," Dorsey added.
"I was happy at Olympiacos. We had a great year, I had a great role, an amazing coach and whatever happens I will be happy for what I experienced at Olympiacos.
How I feel does not affect my decision because it is clear that I am happy at Olympiacos. It's a process that is evolving day by day, numbers and details that need to be discussed," Dorsey told the Athens and Macedonian News Agency.
In the EuroLeague, Dorsey finished with 12.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2 assists per game, while in the Greek league he averaged 10.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.
Talking about his return to the Greek squad, Dorsey told BN Sports he's happy to "wear the jersey again."
"We put out a lot of good energy on the pitch and played like a team. The fans helped in this, creating a nice atmosphere".
Dorsey is expected to return to Greece on August 3, after spending some time in the States. Greece will be playing Spain in two friendlies on August 9 and 11, before hosting the Acropolis Tournament between 17 and 19 August and playing two more WC qualification games against Belgium and Serbia on 25 and 28. Their EuroBasket premiere is on September 2 against Croatia in Milan.
"I am not thinking about future obligations yet," Dorsey said. "What I want now is to go to my family, who I haven't seen in 11 months."
