As Alec Peters is already close to signing with Olympiacos Piraeus, it seems that the Reds have set their eyes on one more player who can bolster their frontline.

According to gazzetta.gr, that player is Joel Bolomboy. The American big man (born in Ukraine) has been the first choice of coach Giorgos Bartzokas for some time.

The Greek coach had also looked into the case of Mike Tobey, who's a free agent after ending his relationship with Valencia Basket after five years, but Olympiacos will probably go for the ex-CSKA forward-center. The reason is that the Greek coach considers Bolomboy a better defender compared to Tobey.

Per the same report, talks between the two sides are ongoing, but the two sides are still far from a full agreement.

The 28-year-old big man was one of the first CSKA Moscow's players to leave after Russia's invasion of Ukraine and did not return despite the threats he revealed he received. The 2,04 m. tweener recorded averages of 5.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in almost 16 minutes of EuroLeague action.

Bolomboy is a free agent after his contract with CSKA expired on June 30. In April, Bolomboyreceived a letter from CSKA Moscow about his imminent requirement to return to the club. Furthermore, the team implied that the player must return his "overpaid agent's" fee to the club.

"In case of a negative answer or no answer, we will have to start the legal procedure," the letter stated.

"Get out of here! I already told you I am not coming back," Bolomboy told in an emotional post. "Your way of getting players to do what you want is by threatening them and trying to punish them."

"You told me and the whole team we can leave and you understand when the Russia/Ukraine situation escalated," the player ended his statement.
