A few days ago, Ja Morant agreed with the Memphis Grizzlies for an early maximum rookie extension of their partnership, totaling $231 million.

Drafting him 2nd overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, Memphis got more than they asked for as Morant has shown up big-time on the biggest stage in his three years in the league.

Now, Morant is enjoying his summer holiday offering help where he considers it necessary. While at a restaurant with his friends, the NBA star tipped a waitress a whopping $500. When asked by her who he was, he responded by saying, "Black Jesus".

The waitress was clearly taken aback by this act of kindness and wanted to know more about the customer's identity. Initially, she asks Morant if he's a professional player and where he's from. When Morant told her he plays for the Grizzlies, the waitress connected the dots and remembers that the franchise recently gave a huge contract to their star player.

The waitress was stunned to realize it was Memphis superstar the man who left her the massive tip.The moment goes to show just how popular Morant has become in a short span of time.

The Grizzlies have slowly moved their way up the ladder these past three years. They lost the play-in game to the Blazers in 2020 with Morant scoring 35 points. The next season, they would beat the Warriors to make the 8th seed and lose in 5 to the Jazz in the first round but not without Morant scoring 47 points in a Game 1 victory.

This past 2022 Playoffs saw them advance to the second round and take the eventual champs to six games with Ja Morant sidelined.
