Within hours of being announced as part of theMilwaukee Bucks' Summer League team in Las Vegas, Luca Vildozawas released by the 2021 NBA champs, according to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype.

In addition to Vildoza, the Bucks also released forward Rayjon Tucker. The possibility of the cut was always latent, considering that Vildoza's contract was not guaranteed for 2022-2023. In other words, the Bucks could release him without having to pay for it.

The situation ends up being quite similar to the one the Argentine guard experienced with the New York Knicks a couple of seasons ago: he reached the end of a season, without making his debut in the NBA regular season, and was cut before the start of the 2021-22 campaign. The difference is that in this case the Argentine played 7 games in the playoffs, with an average of 0.7 points in 2.4 minutes.

Milwaukee now has 13 players under contract for next season: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez, Grayson Allen, Pat Connaughton, George Hill, Thanasis Antetokounmpo and once their signings are official, also Bobby Portis, Joe Ingles, Jevon Carter, Wesley Matthews, and Serge Ibaka. First-round pick MarJon Beauchamp is expected to join soon. AJ Green and Sandro Mamukelashvili will be the two-way contracts, leaving just an open spot in the roster, which could be covered by Jordan Nwora.

Will Luca Vildoza play the Las Vegas Summer League? His chances are still alive, taking into account that no type of contract with the franchise is needed to be part of its squad in the Summer League. The Bucks had already announced Vildoza's participation in Las Vegas this Tuesday, July 5. Of course, with no formal tie to the Bucks, Vildoza could also end up representing another of the 29 teams in the Summer League.
