Dorde Matic of Mozzart Sport was first to break the news. Crvena Zvezda brought the 31-year-old guard back for another stint after his four-year presence (2008-12) on the team that essentially laid the ground for Nedovic to achieve greater things in his career.
Per the Greek newspaper LiveSport, the two-year contract signed by the Serbian guard and his previous team,Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, had an opt-out clause for both sides. Now, Nedovic will have to pay the Greek club 300.000 euros until July 20, as Dimitris Kontos, their communications director, confirmed.
Nedovic started his professional career in Crvena Zvezda, where he played from 2008 to 2012. After that, he went to Lithuania and played for Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, then had a short stint with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA.
After returning to Europe he played for Valencia, Unicaja Malaga, then he was a member ofAX Armani Exchange Milan for two years before joining Panathinaikosin 2020.
Last season Nedovic averaged 14.3 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game in the EuroLeague for Panathinaikos. Nedovic had the option to pick up another year of his contract with Panathinaikos this summer, but he's returning to Belgrade.
In the official announcement, Zvezda "express great satisfaction because Nemanja showed a great desire to return to the team, and therefore took concrete steps so that he could leave his previous club."
