The deal also includes a fully guaranteed player option in the second year.
On June 30th, Gallinari was traded from Atlanta Hawks to the San Antonio Spurs in a package centered around Dejounte Murray. Two days ago, the Italian forward was waived by the Spurs.
As previously reported, Gallinari's preference was always the Celtics. The team from Boston has already improved their roster during the 2022 offseason by trading for Indiana Pacers point guard Malcolm Brogdon for a bunch of players and a 2023 first-round pick.
Last season, the 33-year-old veteran from Italy averaged 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 66 games for the Hawks.
