The Nick Calathes story has been dominating the European basketball world for the past week.

It seems that the saga is coming to an end. According to George Zakkas from SDNA.gr, the Greek guard has once again rejected Panathinaikos OPAP Athens' offer, this time for 3 years and €4 million.

The journalist reports that Calathes asked for a €4.5 million offer. As it was not presented, the FC Barcelona point guard decided to move on.

Initially, Panathinaikos had offered a deal of a 2-year €2.7 million to Calathes. With the club setting a response deadline on Friday, the Greek guard rejected the offer. The Greek club later came back with an updated offer after finding out about the player's desire for a three-year deal.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul reportedly have a similar offer on the table. Turkish media reports that Calathes finds it attractive playing under coach Dimitris Itoudis.

The former Panathinaikos star was reportedly the main offseason target for the Greek club. With Calathes seemingly gone from the available options, Panathinaikos will now focus on strengthening the roster in point guard, shooting guard, and power forward positions.

Zakkas also reports that the club is in advanced negotiations with Lithuanian Marius Grigonis. It is mentioned that after reaching an agreement with Panathinaikos, Grigonis' contract with CSKA should not become an obstacle. The Lithuanian's contract with the Russian club is valid until 2024.

The journalist also adds that Panathinaikos are interested in former Zalgiris Kaunas and Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade guard Nate Wolters.
