Real Madrid and Rudy Fernandez have agreed to extend the contract until June 30, 2023, via the official report.

Recently, the Royal club signed extensions with two other veterans - Sergio Llull and Fabien Causeur. Real know, how important the trio is as leaders inside the locker room, and they didn't want to lose them.

The 37-year-old Fernandez has been a member of Real since 2012. Last season he averaged 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 7.5 PIR over 34 EuroLeague games.

In the domestic league, he accumulated 6.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 4.8 PIR in 29 matches.

During his long tenure in the Spanish capital, Fernandez won two EuroLeague titles, six ACB league trophies, seven Spanish Supercups, and five Copa del Rey golden accolades.

The 24th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft started his professional career in 2002 with Joventut Badalona. From 2008 to 2012, he played with the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets.

Across two teams, Fernandez has NBA career averages of 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 249 games.
