"It's a bet in which we strongly believe. Anthony has a lot to prove and wants to show his potential at the highest level," said Michel Veyronnet, the Deputy General Manager of the club.

"Anthony will compensate for his lack of European basketball experience with his energy, commitment, and determination. We are convinced that he will be the perfect complement to David Lighty on position 3."

The 25-year-old Polite went undrafted in the 2022 NBA draft and ASVEL will be his first professional basketball stop. Previously hespent five years with the Florida State.

Last NCAA season, the 1.98-meter athlete posted 9.9 points (3FG: 32.1%), 5.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals on average.

Polite was born in Lugano, Switzerland, where his father played basketball professionally. Anthony has represented Switzerland at FIBA Europe youth competitions.
