Branko Lazic,Crvena Zvezda's captain and the club's record holder for the number of games played and trophies won, extended his contract with the club for another two (1+1) seasons on Wednesday.

Lazic has been playing for Red Star for the last 11 years and now is set to remain in the red and white jersey for 13 full seasons, thus equaling the club's legends Vladimir Cvetkovic and Dragisa Vucinic. Ahead of them, with 14 seasons in the Zvezda jersey, remains another legend of the club, Slobodan Nikolic.

Twice voted on as the best defender of the ABA League, Lazic has played 697 games, won 20 trophies (6 ABA leagues, 7 Serbian championship titles, 6 Serbian cups and one ABA League Super Cup). He has also played the most European matches, 233, and with 3.148 points he is currently 14th on the all-time list of scorers of Crvena Zvezda.

Branko Lazic, 33, took his first steps in KK FMP in 2007, and moved to Crvena Zvezda in 2011. In addition to club successes, he is also a silver medal winner at the 2017 European Championship with the Serbian national team.

In the past EuroLeague season Lazic averaged 3.7 points, 1.0 rebounds over 16 minutes and 25 contests. He missed the final part of Zvezda's run in the competition due to injury.
